ICOM A2 Perfect WiFi FAQ(Item number: SP168)

SP168 Icom WiFi Use Tips:

About new version Icom A2 with usb WiFi Use Steps:
1.USB WiFi insert in USB interface of the laptop firstly

2.Turn off the laptop WiFi, pls also make sure the additional WiFi cannot be opened. The laptop should only have our device USB WiFi. The wire interface cannot connect with the internet, neither cannot connect with the device lan cable.
3.After you make sure the steps before are ok, you can press the laptop power on button to start the laptop.
4.After you start the laptop, pls go to check if the internet is turn off, neither not connect with the lan cable.

This DWA-131 is our USB WiFi which cannot be turn off, pls also kindly note that it is normal to show “x”.
5.Start the software, click WiFi for ICOM

6.Connect ICOM A2 with the vehicle, wait 20-60 second, you will see that wlan light become not flash or flash slowly. This means USB WiFi and ICOM A2 WiFi connection is OK.

7.Now you can click diagnose or program the software. Click OK when the prompts dislay as the pic following:

8.The following interface cannot be turn off, only can be minimized

9.Now it can recognize the device normally.

For other ICOM A2 you can also check this video, the only difference it is the IP for login, you can check following details:

The perfect wifi ICOM A2 IP: http://169.254.33.45:60080/

The other ICOM A2/A1: http://169.254.92.38:60080/ (such as SP168-BO, SP168-B)

ICOM A2 for BMW Firmware Update Steps and Note

Hinweis: This hardware update is not for every customer, ONLY for those who owns the newest software and the newest software cannot be connected or cannot diagnose vehicle, but the old version icom software for bmw can diagnose the vehicle.  
 
1. Use Network cable to connect Super version BMW ICOM A2 (item NO. SP168-BO) with computer, charge Super version BMW ICOM A2 with 12V power adapter or connect Super version ICOM A2 with the BMW vehicle.
2. Open IE Internet Exploer, browse http://169.254.33.45:60080/, log in with username/password: root/NZY1150263
3. Click "Update Firmware", you will see ICOM firmware version information.
4. Choose file "ICOM-BootImage-01-13-00.bin", set image type to SYSTEM, click "Send the file".
5. When it pops up "Write the image file to the flash?", click "Yes", then ICOM indicator light will turn red.
6. When it pops up "The SYSTEM IMAGE update was successfull", click "Update Firmware".
7. Choose "ICOM-ApplicationImage-01-18-00.bin", set image type to APPLICATION, click "Send the file", it will spend several minutes since the file is a little bit large.
8. When it pops up "Write the image file to the flash?", click "Yes", then the ICOM indicator light will turn red for the second times.
9. When it finish upgrading, click "reboot".
 
Important Note:
 
1. Setting up your computer to obtain an IP address automatically
2. Firstly choose the smaller file "ICOM-BootImage-01-13-00.bin" , then set image type to SYSTEM;
    Secondly choose the bigger file "ICOM-ApplicationImage-01-18-00.bin", then set image type to APPLICATION.

FAQ

Q: I cannot use WiFi, expert mode also not work, how to do? There is one button which tells to check and update, but it is Chinese. :-(
